When processing personal data, we must tell people what we are doing with it.
WHY WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION
We generally process your information when we need to do so to fulfil a contractual obligation or where we or someone we work with needs to use your personal information for a reason related to their business (for example, to provide you with a service).
We collect information about you through our website (when you complete our forms) and securely send it to Empirical Removals.
For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the data controller is Adrian David, London, SW11 3NQ, who also is the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and you may contact him to find out more about the way we treat and use personal data via email at email@example.com.

If we need to process the data you provide us with about yourself to fulfil our service and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the services, in which case, we may have to cancel a product or service you have with us. We will of course notify you if this is the case at the time.

This is how we decide which products, services and offers may be relevant for you (we call this marketing).
You may receive marketing communications from us if you have requested information from us or if you provided us with your details when you requested a quote and in each case, you have not opted out of receiving that marketing.

REMARKETING AND BEHAVIOURAL TARGETING
The way it works is that when you visit our website your web browser automatically sends certain information to Google. This includes the URL of our site and your IP address. Google may also set cookies on your browser or read cookies that are already there. Google may use this data to profile you and provide targeted advertising accordingly.
Google uses the information shared by our site to deliver its services, maintain and improve them, develop new services, measure the effectiveness of advertising, protect against fraud and abuse, and personalise content and ads you see on Google.
To find out more about your options and how to opt-out of interest-based advertising and behavioural targeting, you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative website. You may also contact us at email@example.com to find out more, and where possible, we will exclude your personal data from this processing.
WHERE DO WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION?
All personal data we process is processed by our staff who are based in the UK.
For the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance, this information is located on servers within the European Economic Area.
Some of our external third parties such as Google are based in the US, outside the European Economic Area (EEA) so their processing of your personal data will involve a transfer of data outside the EEA. We also have developers who may have access to your personal data as part of their activities for our business.
Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you want further information on the specific mechanism used by us when transferring your personal data out of the UK.
Once we have received your information, we have a Data Protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data and we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
However and unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our website at the transmission stage; any transmission is at your own risk.
HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION FOR?
We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for.
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.
We are required under UK tax law to keep basic personal data about our customers (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed.
In some circumstances, we may anonymise your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.
